AI for Biotechnologies: A New Approach Using Large Language Models and Knowledge Graphs
Biotechnology and drug discovery research face increasingly complex challenges driven by advances in personalized medicine and the growing demand for sustainable solutions. While new drug development requires significant time and cost, efficient innovation in agriculture, nutrition, and healthcare is urgently needed.
This lecture introduces how artificial intelligence (AI), particularly large language models and knowledge graphs, can deepen our understanding of biology and uncover hidden patterns from vast datasets. Additionally, a globally unique dataset integrating sequence data with semantic information about biological entities is presented, demonstrating how AI tools built on this foundation enable prediction of biomolecular interactions, automated identification of biomarkers, and discovery of novel pathways.
